We made it to Daejeon about 1am this morning, the flight was relatively uneventful but it was still very nice to see Simon and Haejung smiling at us after baggage claim. Within hours we were already eating Kimchee, we stopped at one of the many rest areas on our way to Daejeon last night for dinner, I played it safe with beef and rice but it still comes with a side of Kimchee. Everything comes with Kimchee.
This morning we went to our language placement test. There where college students from all over the world there preparing to study Korean so they can then take classes at the University. It was a lot of waiting but once it was our turn we quickly demonstrated that we needed to be in the Korean for dummies class and we will begin on Monday! The who time I felt like I was in one of those nightmares where you are in school and there is a test that you did not study for. The woman came into the class and started talking loudly and at one point looked at us as though we were to respond, all and all very humbling not being able to communicate.
Afterwards we went to set up our bank accounts, that way we get the best exchange rate possible. We didn't actually put any money into our accounts yet, but that didn't stop the bank owner from taking us to lunch! We went to a restaurant where you didn't order they just brought you what they felt like cooking today along with a million sides, I did my best to try everything. Eating with chopsticks is another humbling experience, it provides great entertainment for the locals as we basically stab mushrooms in order to eat them.

Eating on the floor
Simon and Haejung have been extremely supportive and have thus far made sure we have had food. We did not have the energy to make it to the store this afternoon but Haejung brought over dinner. Simon introduced us today to people by calling us his daughters, they are our Korean family and it makes adjusting a lot easier.
More to come once my clocks have fully adjusted
I'm so excited for you!! Can't wait to hear about all your adventures to come.
